As part of the refurbishment at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle an education studio theatre was required. This was to be used as a learning and performance space.
Audio Light Systems were presented with a bare shell with some old internal steel structure. A bespoke lighting grid and wiring infrastructure was installed to marry up to the existing steelwork. The end result was a typical example of a studio theatre with 36 ways of lighting dimmers and a matching patch panel. The lighting grid specification called for a black finish which was achieved using anodised black alloy for all the main components.
