Audio Light Systems have just completed the fully integrated video, audio & lighting building wide systems at St Andrew Student Union. The £12m, 4 floor re-development at the University Union has been ongoing for several years and has opened to impressive reviews.

All of the digital video signals throughout the building are linked via 64 ways of Atlona HD video matrix giving the Union technicians the ability to send anything anywhere. The audio distribution and processing is controlled with the new Yamaha range of MTX DSPs and digital amplifiers.

As well as a full complement of Chauvet LED luminaires the night club and performance space is equipped with the EV TX speaker range providing the volume required in such a demanding space.

All of the systems are controlled using Extron control points located throughout the building giving the end user the central touch screen control needed with such a system.

“We are very pleased with the outcome at St Andrews Uni. The versatility of the venue was really important for the Union, if required the staff can run the building as one or multiple spaces using the technologies we’ve installed. All the work we do from the theatre rigging to the Extron programming is done in-house by our own full-time staff. This gives us a level of control we really enjoy.”
